Check Engine light came on in my car
 

The Check Engine light came on in my car last night while driving home and this morning, I turned on the car again and the Check Engline light is still on. If I went to a dealership, do you think that they'd take a look at it for free?

I don't want the dealership to do any work, it's just that my mechanic isn't available until next week and I just wanna know if it's a major problem where I shouldn't be driving the car over the weekend in case I'm damaging major components.
