I am waiting for the guy to reply back to me, apparently him and his dad run a private shop somewhere.. sounds like only one lift though cause he said he's free next monday cause of a bmw he's working on nowwont be done til end of this week
|
is he even licensed?
cheapest i seen is 60$. |
if you need a license for a shop, i guess they are, lol
wheres your 60/hr? |
You don't need a license to rent a shop, anyone can rent space.
Its not MY shop. Not somewhere I would go either, I said that's the cheapest I've seen. Anyways, they are in scarborough, (we call it the jungle at work), highland creek overpass and kingston rd. |
lol not some where you'd go? do you guys think it's a good deal to have:
2 Lower Control Arms. 2 Upper Control Arms. 2 Lower Ball Joints. 2 Outer Tie Rod Ends. 2 Inner Tie Rod Ends. 2 Sway Bar Link Kits. all installed for 350 flat if cash?(he also offering 390-420 for those parts at mid-class depending on brands, not sure what are choices) and 750 for a complete engine swap? |
$350 for all that work is a good deal. I hope he is a good mechanic though.
You're doing an engine swap too? |
haah i do too..
|
^ you're brave. i wouldn't just hire anybody cause they're cheap. think about it.....they're cheap for a reason, and not one that you would hope for......
i'd say pay the extra 20$ an hour for someone that is licensed. the 60$ shop i saw is licensed, and i've delivered parts to them many many times. i can't say about their work, but if they sucked, they wouldn't be in business, just saying. this is a car, for me, if my car broke, i'd be fcuked. can't take those risks to save a few bucks. good luck :thumb: |
The place has gotten good reviews though so I don't know, lol. I'll just hope for the best, what's the worst that can happen, front end suspension fails on me and i die? shucks.
lol |

You're doing an engine swap too? Maybe when the weathers warmer lol |
you'll need an allignment after all that suspension work. better not cheap out on that.
|
i would hope they would allign it after installing.. no? lol ><
|
if he didn't quote you for it.. then no. if i were you and had to take my car to a shop for repairs, i would go to a reputable shop that charges around $80/hour and uses quality parts, preferably a shop that is mto certified and that the mechanics are all licensed. just remember.. you get what you pay for.
|
I completely agree, but i've read good reviews and i'm willing to gamble lol...
|
So I ended up paying 925 last night to get 2 upper control arms, 2 lower control arms, 2 outer tie rods, 2 cv boots, 2 steering sleeves, and i think 2 lower ball joints
parts + labour. parts were from Bravo Canada and DX^2 (squared) anyone know those brands? the guy told me that they were Japanese manufactured and considered "mid end" they were also brand new |
