Car threatens to stall

Hey all,

So I start my car around noon today and of course its hot as hell. I crank the a/c and start driving. I notice that there is a delay as I'm shifting gears, I have to rev a lot higher to get it to go. A little strange but whatever, it goes away after a minute.

Less than 2 mins driving, I get to a stop light and all of a sudden, the car starts to shudder, and the rpms is close to 0. I have to rev it to keep it up. It does this twice before the light changes. I turn off the ac, thinking its taking up too much power but it still does it. I pull over, into a mall and do a couple laps in the parking lot at 5000rpm and then its all normal. No problems.

My question basically is what would cause the car to want to stall? I just changed the oil, they tested my battery and said it was getting low. Could that be the cause?

Edit:

Now the SRS light is on... What gives? Isn't there a recall for the srs light coming on?

Is there a CEL as well?

Could be a number of things...

No CEL comes on. Just the SRS light stays on now. It hasn't done that since, but now that light won't come off.

probably the IAC valve for the car hesitating below 500 rpm. I got the same problem , mostly when it is pretty hot out there

Defenitly the IACV I had a simlar situation, cleaned the TB and the IACV and replaced the gaskets fixed it tright up

The IACV could definitely be the cause. Might benefit from a cleaning.

I've also heard good things about the Seafoam fuel system additive. One of my friends recently had the same problems you did on his Nissan, and he even had knocking noises that sounded like the engine was going to blow some connecting rod bearings, but he used the Seafoam fuel additive and it cured his engine problems. Might not hurt to try a bottle from a Napa store.

Good luck.
