Car shut off while driving- P1382 code
 

hey guys,
I have a 98 civic hatch,
automatic

While i was driving, suddenly the car stalled and wouldnt fire up again.
I took it to the mechanic, he suggested it was the distributor.
Once he replaced the distributor, the car started up and is now driving.
But, I am getting a check engine light that reads p1382. according to the scanner, it says that No signal Cylinder Position Sensor (CYP)

now, I understand that this sensor is integrated with the dizzy...
why is the CEL coming up when I replaced the old dizzy with a new one?

could it be something else? has anyone experienced this?

I am not driving the car as I dont want to cause anymore damage to the car, so I am waiting on any replies that can help me solve this issue. Thanx

The distributor he replaced, was it a brand new one, and was it for the same year and model vehicle? (I assume so).

Make sure all connectors on the dizzy are plugged in correctly.
