Can't find Purolator oil filters...

Where can you purchase Purolator oil filters in the GTA?

bbarbulo 07-Dec-2004 09:03 AM

used to be at walmart.... but why would you want purolator???

All OE filters are now produced by Honeywell (Fram). Fram is junk IMO. Purolator seems like a reasonable compromise between build quality, filtering capacity, and price. I'm also considering Hastings and Wix, however they appear even more difficult to find.

If you go to KAR autoparts on dixie just south of queensway
ask if you can see teh inside of the PROTEC filter they have sittign around, the onyl problem is you have to buy a case of 12 filters BUT ALL THEIR oil filters (Protec) are teh same price and they are less then 6 $ each... i dont' know the exact price but i THINK it's like 4.80 or something.... they are built REALLY well
jsut look @ the filter yoru self in person and judge tehy are JUST AWESOME.. LOTS of pleats, very dense material, dirt cheap cost and built to last! and since tehy are so cheap it helpos you do frequent oil changes! i bought a case myself.. and will be usign on my LS/Vtec build

I'll have to check that place out one day. I caved and picked up a WIX oil filter from CarQuest today. I'll have to pick up another one and cut it apart to have a look inside some day.
