battery dying
i think my battery is dying soon. well it's getting harder to start the car now.
should i just go to honda or any other suggested place cheaper? how much do you guys know does honda charge for battery replacement? thanks |
Honda battery around 80-85 plus taxes ish....
|
you need to test the battery under load.. Make sure it is the battery that's dying and not the starter.. Hold a volt meter to the battery with the car off, head lights on, ignition on, heater blower on full. It should be pretty close to 12 v.. If it's like 6-7volts, then yeah the battery is dying.
A dying starter will make it seem like a battery problem as well. |
looks like my original factory battery finally bit the dust. 4+ years and the car will no longer start.
where should i get a new battery from? walmart? cdn tire? costco? HONDA???? i've also heard about optima yellow batteries... guys is it worth it to get a superduper battery, or what? SUGGESTIONS PLEASE! ASAP! 'CAUSE MY CAR'S AT HOME STUCK IN THE GARAGE! |
Canadian tire brand is probably gonna enough..
I've never had a problem with it. |
winter is when they usually die...
|
also make sure your terminal is not shot, b'cos then it wont charge properly. happened to me once.
take the negative side off and flip it over if it looks suspect. Originally posted by Cablerat Canadian tire brand is probably gonna enough.. I've never had a problem with it. |
You can get it tested for free at CT.... then you can pin point the problem
|
hook an ohmmeter in series to see if there is any parasitic draw, but you really need to load test it you test on a machine that put's like half the rated CCA of the battery for 15 seconds then read the voltage. OR just go easy and cheap buy a mulit meter and take the voltage at the battery.

get optima (deep cycle dry cell)if you got money, also good if youre gonna add audio equipment in the future. if not any battery will do. you get what you pay for so beware.
|
how good a battery is is how many plates does it have ie grab it if it's heavier than a similar one that get the heavier one. THat's the retard way but it works none the less
