2005 Civic Cabin Filter

Hey all, I picked up a 2005 Civic Special Edition (with heated seats!! :smokin:) to replace my 2000 a few months ago, and it's time for a 96K service!

As per forum etiquette, I tried searching to find a DIY for cabin filter replacement for 2001-2005 models, but only found chit-chat on older Civics not having a filter. Has anyone ever replaced theirs, and if so, any quick instructions? If not, I'll figure it out on my own tomm (probably just screws and some pulling) and then take pics and add to the DIY forum here. I bought the OEM Honda filter; looks very cheap and flimsy for something just over $20 tax in.

As for tune-ups, I have 95K and want to do the spark plugs. Do you guys recommend to buy the Double Platinum OEM plugs from the Honda dealer ($18 a piece!!!) or could I get away with NGK G-Powers (which has less platinum = cheaper) for about half the cost at Canadian Tire?

Thanks in advance for any input!

The cabin filter is easy as pie. Open the glove box, there is a tab on either side of it, pop them out, and the glove box will swing all the way to the floor, so I suggest emptying it before hand. Then you'll see on the right side, a clip to pop out for the filter. It has 2 trays, make sure you insert the filter the correct side up. Then just put it all back together.

Thanks Sumol! It was easy as pie, but dirty as all hell after bening in there for over 5 years! Glad I got it replaced.
