0 RPM Idle...Help Please!
Okay so my car started to do something funny today. It's a 1990 Civic Si, so it has the 1.6L if that matters.
Today while I was driving through town I noticed when I was sitting at a stop light that the tach was at 0 rpm. This was odd because the car was running and idling fine. The car will drive and everything works without a problem.
With a bit more driving I figured out that when I come to a stop light and completely stop the car after 5-10 seconds the rpm will drop to zero, the green light around the "D" will dim to basically nothing aswell as the in dash clock.
If I put it in park and sit for a while the car will stay at regular idle, but as soon as I touch the brake the tach will drop to zero aswell.
Also, it doesn't happen all the time but it seemed to be happening at more stop light than it wasn't happening.
Anyone ever had this happen? Anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?
