For alarms, I will tell you this from experience.

Dont bother. They dont work.
Buy a GPS tracker instead.

As for HID's, the price range for H4 housings + the HID kit + good bulbs would be roughly around 200-400$.

Yeah an alarm is more for show (great to pick up girls with btw) and luxury (auto start, auto door locks) than for theft deterent. But if you don't care then It would be either compustar or Viper. Compustar is better for auto-start on manual cars, but Viper has better features.

thats why its always good to get an alarm and also a gps tracking device. An alarm simply alarms you of what goes on, but if you're asleep and so lazy to get up in your ***, than it is pointless.

I hear Clifford is good too, but it is slightly more expensive than compustar or even viper. Also, I don't know any re-sellers in the GTA area...

here is a few thing to be looking for in an alarm:

get one with a 2 way remote ( no point of having an alarm if the ride is getting jacked at night and you cant hear it... lol )

if you want to invest get one with a remote starter, life saver in winter time

last but not least make sure it has a starter kill relay set up/immobilizer (starter doesn't turn until alarm is disarmed)

But again, if some one is really after your ride, they will probably get a tow truck and yank it out.
alarms are more for getting rid of crack heads that are after you stereo/rims or something along those lines...

Clifford is actually owned by Viper which is Directed electronics so they are the same but in a different shell. I personally like the Viper products myself but Compustar is good as well.
