Check if there are holes on the side of your shift ****. There should be about 3 of them on the metal ring at the bottom. If there are then you should have gotten these tiny screws that you tighten with an allen key to hold the shifter in place.

Is it too big...is that the problem?

If it's too big just get some electric or duct tape wrap it around the threads then screw on the ****

A mold? like fibreglass it on?

i think its short shifter time...cuz if ur threads are stripped on the shaft...i dont think its worth to try and fix...

its cuz the plastic insert in it isnt the right size for your ****er...whatever car it was on before had a larger size thread pattern on it compared to the m12x.1.5 on the civic...ur kinda screwed unless u wanna epoxy it on or can find an insert for your shifter
