Reprogramming 2002 Civic SiR Remotes....

Hi guys,

I just bought my 2002 Honda Civic SiR and I've got some problems with the locking/remote system so I would love some advice from you guys.

1) I put two new batteries in each of the remotes but the unlock button doesn't work on either of them. The lock works and even makes a "beep" noise on the horn when you keep pressing it. I know the locks physically work because the power lock button on the inside of the car works. The dealer asked me to program the remote and he said it was easy. The link he gave me didn't carry my model however, so I was wondering if any of you guys knew how to program the remotes for a 2002 Honda Civic SiR (hatch).

2) This is a separate issue (but sorta related as well)....the driver's side lock never works even from the power lock switch (all other locks work)....the dealer told me it was an inexpensive actuator switch that I can get from eBay. Have you guys had this problem and if so, how much does it cost to buy one and can I do it myself vs how much does it cost to get fixed?

Thanks very much for all your help.

Ben.
