overheating when cooling fan is turned on ?????
i have a 96 civic dx base model ( no a/c or power nuthin got it for a f20b swap ) while im driving it works fine, when the heat is on it works fine, but wen i shift the temp dial to the cold side with the fan on, after 2 mins the temp gauge starts climbing. ??????? the first day i noticed it my gauge was 3/4 ways up and climbing, now i have never heard my rad fan come on and there is no leaks in the cooling system, some1 hinted to me its probably the head gasket but wouldnt it overheat all the time? someone plz help

Yes, bleed the coolant system. If there is an airpocket, coolant won't be able to flow through thus causing overheating.
When the car is cold and its safe to remove radiator cap, remove it, start the car with the cap off. Let the car idle and watch the bubbles come up. Top up if necessary. Let the car run for 5mins or so, until coolant heats up and rad fan goes on twice (may take more than 5mins).
When done, turn off the car, reinstall the radiator cap and see if the car will overheat again. Radiator should be filled to the neck.
