oem deck problem(security code)

hey guys i tried to put my old oem deck from a 98 el into my 98 hatch and it obviously asked for the security code that u have to put in to make it work but i lost that little card that has the code on it. Anyway i called the dealership and they said that they might not have the code in their computer system since the car was purchased almost 6 years ago and they basically told me theres nothing i can do!!?? What can i do to make it work?

Don't forget to have the ownership for the car that the deck came out of. They can't help you without that info. Honda Canada needs this info or else they don't give out the code. This helps keep the theft thing to a minimum.

I'm not saying you stole it, or that it's stolen, what I'm saying is that Honda won't do it. It's thier policy.

Ye i figured some people would at least suspect that it might be stolen..im not saying ur accusing me..but no the ownership is no problem at all except that it's in my mom's name which isn't really a problem at all.

You need the ownership to the car too. They will also ask for your DL.
