I used DupliColor Vinyl & Fabric Spray, works like magic. My 3 other buddies have done the same.

It'll bring your carpet looking like new, you can get it at CDN Tire / Part Source / Wal-Mart.

It's a great DIY, before you spend few hundred on new carpet.

I'm 99% sure you'll be happy w/ these results.

I really wish I had some pictures of my car, and 3 of my other buddies that had it done, but take my word, it's truly unbelievable.

Most people will either ask to take off their shoes before they get into your car, or ask if it's new carpet.

I highly recommend 2 cans of it, which will be approx $20.00(for 2 cans), and you'll be on your way.

This has been tested on 2 DA9's and 1 EJ1 - very happy with the results.

Good luck.

PS> This was posted on Honda-Tech if I'm not mistaken, and we went at it.

Hope it works out for you guys!

Steam Clean would be for optimal results, but true story, it's not necessary.

Vacuum is sufficient enough.

cool, thanks for the help, i will give it a try soon

Sounds great, share the results :)

No problem, glad I could help.

Wow I might do this too. Did you have to take the carpet out? Or just remove the seats and paint it in the car. I've used this stuff to paint my dash and door panels. Decided against using it on the carpet because i thought it might look messy.

Well anyways i'm gonna consider it since it seems to have had good results for you. Let me know how you did it. Thanks

Yeah, personally it's been tested on 3 cars, I had the charcoal grey carpet, and used black - excellent results right away.

You can just take out the seats, and spray right ontop of it.

My buddies didn't steam clean, they just vacuumed and went right at it.

I had even stains that this product covered, it's truly incredible.

Alright. now I'm convinced. My whole interior is black except my carpet. Now I'm debating on making the top half of my interior grey though (ceiling, upper panels above door, and upper panel above the rear windows).

I've seen it on somebody's civic. But it looked good. Don't know if it was stock, (cant remember what stock was again) But that's how it looks like in my 1.7EL though. Still not definite about the grey idea, but i'm planning to redo my whole interior again soon. Got tired of the ctr style red door panels. hahaha.

Well i'm gonna run out this weekend to get 2 cans of paint and paint the carpet with it still in the car. thanks for clarifying that it can be painted while in the car.

Personally, I wouldn't touch the upper area, I would leave it the gray it is, because it compliments the rest of the car, OEM is always the way to go. But the carpet from charcoal grey to black is well worth it. Carpet is a little tacky is why I say that.

Would love to see your CTR door panels, depends overall what color your car is as well, to do a complete nice proper match.

No worries, let me know how it comes out, to any of you guys that have digital camera's do some before & afters.

You're definitely right. However, it lasts quite a while, so on a small or large scale, well worth it.

The carpet becomes more thick. Nothing really noticeable.

Andrei 14-Jul-2007 04:18 PM

I've done it on my carpet, and it wears off if you dont have rubber mats or anything to cover it.. so if you are going to do that, it will look rich black and good on your floor.. but get mats because it will fade quickly.

I actually took the whole carpet out of the car, cleaned it, washed it and let it dry for a few days then painted it..
