My sub randomly keeps on dying for a second or two

Okay, so i got this 12" MTX road thunder with
a 400W amp, the previous owner had no problem with it.
I wired it myself with 8gauge wiring, and it worked fine for a long time. Now it just randomly dies for a second or two while playing and comes back on.

and i just have some other random questions if you have time.
I don't have a capacitor... was i supposed to get one?
Do you think i can run a 1000W Sony Xplod on that 8gauge?

Hi,

May be an issue with the amp.

I would run 4 gauge wire

Thanks

your big fuse for the positive wire could be going .. happened to me. went to take the fuse out and it fell apart. happened to my friend aswell.
iv got 20gse stinger pro fuses if you need one. but its probably easier to just buy them from crappy tire yourself.

Could also be a problem with the tinsel leads on the sub.

Also, may be a problem with the rca cables.
