interior lighting (led bar vs glow wire)

greetings,

i'm looking to install some interior lighting into both my car and a minivan and have been exploring some of my options. does anyone have any opinions on using glow wire vs using led bars?

is an led bar much brighter than glow wire? would it make much of a difference for having ambient light in the cabin area of a minivan?

but most importantly, are there any places in toronto where i can buy bulk glow wire (i.e. by the foot) or multiple / custom sized led bars?

thanks for all your input

the ge elusions stuff is brighter and you can cut it to size or even bend it so you can put it almost anywhere.

2 different light patters / effects describe wwhat kinda look you are going for, leds are more directionsal and the lite wire will not give much glow, just the line...

whatever you go with eirther leds or neon or whatever, the life span is a long long time... its not on all the time just a select time so no matter what you go with they will be on for a good while

i'm going for a "chill" atmopshere. i was thinking about running glow wire around the floorboards or around the interior trim and mounting black light led bars on the walls. i think they should be able to play off them nicely.

like that? that is my setup...
4 - 9" neon tubes and 1 4" tube...
you cannot see n e wires or bars, and the glow is alot more and much brighter than the pics show...
is that what you are looking to do?
i don like glow wire i think the life is too short and you can never do a clean smooth job with n e of the lnes...
leds are great but very directional, they are greaat for features but for overall glow i prefer neon as they well glow alot more and are not directional like leds which will give a focused light oppesed to glow... there are ways of fixing the leds to glow better but pretty much a waste of timee and hassle...
and the life of led vs neon don matter your not gonna drive round 24/7 with them on so they will last years...
