Installing Reverse Glow Gauge Issue

Hey guys,
I was installing the glow gauge in my civic and was confused about the wiring for the inverter. I thought the red/black wire was the main power for the inverter so i stripped the cable and hooked up the inverter to the red/black wire. For some reason, that didn't seem to work so I am just curious if there is another wire that the inverter should be hooked up too? Also, I have been trying if the thing is working without hooking up the ground wire from the inverter, that shouldn't make a difference right?

I have been using this table as a basic guide :

Thanks a lot!

its pretty basic . There should be 2 wires a power and a ground. The two wires need to be connected in order for the circuit to work. You can not leave the ground disconnected as it wont work

The power wire can be hook up to the parking fuse and the ground wire can be hook to any ground on the car. You can also hook up the power to another power source but i found it easier to just run a wire to the parking fuse ... my ground was connected to the back screw behind the cluster

the parking fuse is located underneath your steering wheel, where all the fuses are

its a 10 A fuse and if i remember correctly it will the the fourth one from the bottom counting from right to left.

I drive the same car as your so i can double check tomorrow , but i know its a 10a fuse from the bottom on the right side. Remove one and check if your parking lights are still on , if they are not then thats the one. Just make sure you remember where it goes

I ll take a picture tomorrow. You could also tap the power wire to another power wire in the harness that connect to the cluster. I just wasnt too sure which one .

There are many ways to get a power source for the lights . I ll take apic tomorrow and posted it at night

okay! thanks a lot , thats what I was trying to do right now, i was using the red/black wire but for some reason the gauge doesnt light up so something is messed up there, maybe because of the ground isn't grounded or not enough power

for starters , it will never work if you have no ground. Therefore that is your pronblem. Find and ground a it will more than likely work !
