humming noise from speakers

humming noise from speakers

i installed a 4 channel amp for my jbl speakers
i hear a humming noise when the car is turned on COMING FROM THE SPEAKERS
the harder i rev the car, the noisier the humming is....
is my amp ****ed or do i have a bad ground.....
the amp is mounted to the back seat....


whats the problem??

Bad ground/multipe grounds/too many grounds.

yup, alternator whine..

def check the grounds first

i 2nd bad ground....also make sure you run your power and ground on separte sides of the car

ground and check wirings (ie. what gauge wires are u running)

4 gauge
the wires are run at the same side
i'm thinking maybe because the amp is mounted right on my seat...and the seat is metal....so the ground is looping back to the amp
does that sound reasonable?

if you have cheap rcas there most likely picking up any noise on the power wire, cheap rca's reject noise like a crackhead rejects crack

i had the same problem do ur speakers like do a snaping noise when u raise the volume? what brand is ur cd player?

rca's should be run down the opposite side of the power wire...
check your grounds...to get better ground...bolt to chassis...if it is not done so already...
