How to remove back seats of Honda Dx Hatchback 1990?
hi, i am new to this forum and i had a question on how to remove the back seats of my honda hatchback. I bought this honda because i would like to get an AA on automotive Technology and this is where i practice what i learn on school. I am trying to fix the inside of it because the past owner did not clean the carpet or the seats and i need to replace them. My honda is a 1990 Dx Hatchback with stock enginge, i believe is a 1.5L. I managed to remove the bottom part of the seats but the part that slides (pictures shown) i can not seem to find a way to take them off. I have read that they have a cotter pin but i cannot see one. It seems like the seats must be slided to one side so the little tube that makes it flip up and down can slide off and thus removing the seat. Honestly i do not know how to remove then and i was wondering if any of you guys know how to, maybe i might replace them later on.

never removed this part on an EF but I have quite a few other Civics so I imagine it to be similar from what your pics show, look on the outer side of the seat. That part of the hinge should have a plastic "C" shaped clip with a little tab on it. The clip kinda looks more like a "Q" with a part missing. Pull that clip out and the seat slide outward and off the centre hinge you show in the pics.
