Got a 98 Civic hatch

Problem #1: Whenever I turn off my car, there's just one big "thump" sound. I have two amps and two subs in my car. Could this be a faulty ground connection? I'm almost 100% positve its my subs. Ive seen this posted before, but couldnt' find the thread. I know this is an easy question, and i'll get the answer to this question in no time.

Problem #2: Ive located my horn wire and can connect it to the steering wheel, and it works. I'll have a problem while turning my wheel all the way, cause the horn wire needs to coil around the hub part. Is there an easier way of installing the horn other than mounting a separate horn button?

Problem #3: I recently installed a short shifter and a full exhaust. With the added width of the piping, and the longer shifter, bottom of the shifter shaft taps against the piping when its in gear, and get an annoying clinging sound . I thought i could wrap the area of piping with foil. What other heat resistant material can I use for this?

Problem #4: I need a 96-98 Civic Dash. The one i have right now is painted, and i'm tired of it. I wouldn't suggest ANYONE to paint their dash, especially if its not the same color as their car. If anyone has one lying around, please PM me.

imo, fix it right, relocate the pipe so you have clearence (ya had to do both at the same time didn't ya )

1- What kind of amps are they. Because when I had first bought my Soundstream Rubicon one of the special features was a quiet turn on to avoid that thump sound. I have a cheapy amp right now and it does it too...but its not loud as i only have 1 10"

I would check your ground anyway because a good ground is a must.

2-extend the wire and cover it with black tubing or something...thats about as good as its going to get.

3-short shifters are evil

4- too bad you cant buy my dash i have for sale ...its stock grey but for an EG

as for #2..... yes.... use a thick piece of wire and bend it in an arch shape and add a loop in the end in enable a screw to hold onto it.... connect your horn trigger to this wire and use one of the screws in the hub to fasten the wire firmly. the wire will touch the back of the hub and act as a contact for the trigger.... this way there's always contact to a "grounded" connection without having a wire tangling all the time.....

look on the net for making your own turn off delays very simple to make that seems like your problem, but could be a ground like mentioned
