High Pitched Whine when Accelerating

I'm getting a high pitched whine from my speakers when I accelerate. It's coming from my newly installed DVD deck (no name crap). Someone told me that it was because the power supply is not shielded. Is there a way to do this, or some other way to diminish the whining sound?

more info

are your speakers being run off an amp, or is everything run off the deck?

There are 2 decks installed...

the first is a panasonic cd/mp3 player (which I run the stock speakers off of). The second is the crappy DVD deck. The sound began when the second deck was installed.

check the grounds on the dvd deck

it also could be a very crappy power supply in the dvd deck as well, to eliminate the alternator whine just run a ground from the deck straight to the NEG battery post as a temp solution and see if it helps

Cool...I'll give it a go tomorrow night. Thanks for the advice.

r u sure its ur speakers? if u have an air intake, it could be the "intake" or air whenever u accelerate. If thats ur problem, then its normal..

No, it's definitely not the intake. Actually, it was the crappy dvd deck. I regrounded, still no difference...what a piece of poo.

i had the same problem with my cd player... i first went and bought filters... did the job for a bit and then i took them off .. and still did it so it took me about 3 weeks to figure it out it was an rca cable that wasent that good of a cable so i went and bought a gold plated rca cable and theres no whine so if u have any rca cables runnin at all check it out ..

If u are using the amp to power the speakers u are most likely to run into a power wire and rca problem. U are getting an engine noise. My car did that too. Now it doesn't do it. Could be your RCA. Don't put rca and power wire together when u run it to the back. Run it the opposite.
