help! i think my amp blew

ok...i tested everything last week and everything was working.
that means my amp and subs were playing music properly...
then i took my subs home for a couple of days to fix the carpet...
i left the amp in the trunk still hooked up....
just disconnected the speaker wires...
today when i connected the speaker wires back to the subs, no music played....
i checked the two 20amp fuses on the amp and they were blown...
i pulled it out and tried putting new ones in but a spark came and they blew too...
i blew like 6 fuses....
i don't know whats wrong....
help

Are any wires tocuhing ground?
Unhook everything and just leave the Power/Ground and remote wire to the amp, try putting the fuse in and see what happens

If that blows, check to make sure everythign on the amp is fine, that the ground and power arnt touching, and the remote isn't touchign either.

Check to see if the amp chasis is grounded to the car chasis in any way.

ok...thanks...i'll try that tomoro....
i tried disconnecting the speaker wires and then connecting the power....but it still blew....
hmmm....
is there a way that i can check to see if my amp is blown?

it was working one day, and then wasn't the next...

by the way...i need to mention that i was doing donuts with the car....
do you think that amp fucked up because of that....
it was still connected at the time....

disconnect everything

and check each wire....
is the power still getting to the amp??

Amp prolly didn't blow...that's why it has a fuse internally (well, in the system, but on the case usually). It's just some wires you knocked loose while doing donuts in your car

Bolt that thing down next time man, that's why the holes are there

Did you get it working?

Did you try putting the fuses in first, then reconnecting the power wire?

i tryed that....but it blew the fuses once the power touched the amp....
i thnk its something on the inside...

Simple test...get a continuity tester or voltmeter, and see if there is continuity between the terminals on the amp. If you don't have either, take short lengths of wire, and hook it up as close to the battery as possible but still with a fuse attached. That way, you eliminate any possiblity of loose wiring somewhere in the car. By the way, are you sure you are hooking it up right?
