Have you ever heard of this alarm?
So I'm shopping for an alarm for my new car. And I came across a brand called "autosecure". The guy I talked to said that the people from clifford designed this alarm called the "vadar" by autosecure. It comes with a pager/keychain that alerts you to your alarm going off. I'm interested in getting it but I'm curious if any of you have heard of it?
Good?bad? what? Fill me in on what you know! THanks!

Lots of people make the pager alarms now. I'd go with compustar because their **** has a good reputation: me and another guy at tcc use compustar pager alarms, and my parts guy got one for his girlfriend's lexus

compustar rules.... besides the look of the pager i like my compustar alarm too... actually it is probably the most popular alarm/paging system available .... a lot of owners of the shops i visit use them ...
there is another one called smartlink or something like that... the pager looks pretty cool but i've noticed that not too many people have that alarm installed into their cars.... not really sure why though...

I would look into an Alpine or a Clifford if you are looking for alarm systems without paging units...
The alarm I had in my jeep had a backup siren, dual motion detectors (internal/external), hood/trunk/door pins, shock sensor etc. etc. It was manufactured by Alpine and I never had a problem with it, either with the hardtop on or the softtop on.
Regards,
OK

there r many brands out there like viper, code alarm, alpine, cliford, etc. the one i'm using is called Prestige, which is not bad at all and no problems for 2 yrs now. cliford is good, but quite expensive tho. i think pager alarms are good only if you r within distance, and most of the time u r not so it is pretty useless i say.

The NEW Compustar "****** Sprectrum" should be out soon......look at some of the features......http://www.compustar.org/products/2WSS.html
It also list's all the other models too.:working:
Does anyone know how far 6000 feet is, in meters/km? About 4km? That would make sense.....FRS radio's can get great range..(they use fm transmision)(****** sprectrum gets even further)..now imagine a alarm that can do that! (I don't think I will every go back to a 1 way alarm........the 2 way gives me comfort.....as long as it beeps when I push button 4(on my remote), I know that I'm within range.
