dynamat

i thinking of adding dynamat to my front speakers, trying to improved sound quality, anyone did it before and how hard was it?
what improvment have you noticed?
installation process, is it just cut to fit the speaker opening and stick it on?

If you use the deadening to seal up all the holes in the door panel and put a bunch of deadening directly behind the speaker you will notice a big improvement in midbass

You will get some improvements, not a miracle. Doors on their own are not that big of a deal to do (2-3hrs). If you are going to do it do the whole door not only the speaker area, no point. Take the panels off than the plastic protection off and you will get most of the door accessed like that.

Do not buy Dynamate as it is very expensive. I got 70sqf of Brown Bread from eBay for $210 shipped. You will not need more than 20 to do the doors.

For 70sqf I did the entire trunt, rear deck, wheel wells, rear side panels all the way to the doors, doors, and some floor in the rear. Buy entire I mean you can not see exposed metal anywhere in the areas mentioned above.

I got noticably quieter ride, no more bass vibrations in the door and overall more acurate sound (not louder). The whole point of dampening the car is to stop the metal from vibrating and thus adding its own sound to the music playing.

If you want to improve speaker performance build it an enclosure.

Take a look at the install half way down the page.
