Hi folks! I am new to this forum and I have a newbie-type question for you experts. Is there a sub that I can install directly to my LX without changing the stereo and adding an amp? I am not sure if the OEM amp is powerful enough and drive a sub. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately no you can't have a sub without an amp. You can buy a sub with a built in amp though. I can't recommend one in particular but I'd say go to a local shop and they would be more than happy to show you some equipment. Where are you located?

a friend picked up a bazooka system from bestbuy for 120-150 ish.

nothing special, one of those entry level subs with a built-in amp i believe. better base than stock, but you get what you pay for obv.

I'm not sure if your OEM car has an extra sub, I have no idea. There's also component speakers, come with 'mini' subs designed for lows, and a sperate speaker for Highs (Mids and Highs with a good set). You could wire in a Cross Over, and just the bottom half of a component set...

Infinity Also make a Sub/Amp combo, much like the Bazooka System.
