double din, e-brake by-pass

k, so i got a question. i understand that in order to by pass the e-brake for the double din, the green wire for the e-brake needs to get run to a ground, with a switch on the line sumwhere. my question, can i just run it to the ground on the back of the deck? and hav a switch near the deck sumwhere? shouldn't matter which ground, right??
