their own enclosure??
like say i have 2 12"..do i have to isolate each sub or can i have one internally open box to hold both, non-seperated????

Yes you can marty, sometimes bigger boxes with more than 1 sub is better to have seperate enclosures but you can share the enclosure with 2 12's

they are being fed a mono signal. If it is stereo signal then its best you put each sub in its own enclosure.

-If one sub blows the other sub wont automatically see twice the volume and might blow as well due to power handling limitations in a bigger enclosure

what if i have 4 12"
here's the scenario..

both amps will be running 4ohm mono (ya, my V-12's)
subs are dual vc 4ohm..
2 subs will create a 4ohm load on each amp..
space is limited and hard to work with..put a big round area (30" diameter, 6.5" deep) beside a rectangle (24"x14" 6.5" deep) and that's what i have to work with..
roughly 3.5cft before glass..
so let's say about 3cft..

i think i'm snookered
space is limited big time...

if your asking if you can run 4 12's bridge to 2 amps yes, cause the signal will be the same marty. Glass? Sure what do you need?

i'd be willing to lend a hand too marty for some glassing. You could run 4 subs but you wont have enough space guranteed.......

Ther are ways around the space issue. If you fill the box with cotton batting it tricks the sub into thinking it has more space than it really does. It takes the sound waves longer to get to the other side and reflect.

each 400rms will be getting 200w, so it'll be a "quality" but "tons of" kinda thing..

looks like i'll be able to swing it..
3" lip should give me an extra 1.8 cube so roughly 5 cube over all..
should be able to start the framing tomorrow
