DIY - 6th Gen Ugly *** Stock Shifters!
Ever since I bought my '99 Hatch...my shiftknob has always been bugging me because it is so ugly and "wimpy" looking. Some of you may ask, why not just buy a aftermarket shifter....my answer...why buy something thats going to the same thing and probably look cheap. Well I found a solution that improves the look of the shifter console. All you have to do is break the plastic ring/piece that is at the very top of the shift of the shiftboot, roll/pull the shifter boot up as much as you need and there you go...a brand new look to your shifter. Cheap too! For those of you that are concerned about, thats its going to fall back down...well its been 2 days and it fits very tight and snug, so far it looks its going to stay there. If you experience any problems...just apply a little bit of glue, or tape inside the boot.

get an integra shifter..fits nicely..a bit shorter throws.and nice bend brings it closer to you.
short shifters, i'm not a fan off, i've heard it breaking in peoples hands while shifting..i think cynikal can vouche for that.

it depends on what quality of shifter you buy when you're talking about them snapping while you're driving.... you get what you pay for... don't expect something to act like an oem shifter when you got it for $40...
if you want good quality stuff, be ready to pay good quality prices
