Decks and picky CD's

Anyone have a cd deck that only likes certain brands of CDR media? I noticed lately my alpine will only play the first few tracks when using some HP discs (silver and blue). Everything else seems to work fine though.

At first I thought maybe it was a crappy disc, but it plays fine in all other players. Very odd.

I've had this problem recently....never really thought of it being the media. I was under the assumption that it was because of the speeds I was burning the discs at and the age of my deck.

generally it can be attributed to media, worn lasers and write speeds...the black media discs are usually better accepted by players than the light blue/green ones...thankfully my stock deck from 1994 plays everything except rewritable media
