Deck Cutting out

I'm having a problem with my deck, its a JVC El Kameleon model 111. Now my problem lies when I try to turn up the sound, when I hit like 25 or so (goes up to 40) my deck shuts off and restarts itself.. whats the deal with it? TIA

Maybe defective greg? Hows the ground on the deck? Is it new or old deck?

This dude at my work said it might have something to do with the ground, or the way the speakers are drawing power from it. I'm gonna hook up my 6X9s to my 4 channel amp and I already ditched my sub, so hopefully after that it'll be better. BTW alex howd u find my friends setup?

Greg, does the deck shut off when no speakers are connected?

Have you tried other speakers hooked up? Any shorts in he + and - of the speaker wires? Maybe thats a prob.

Maybe bad ground on deck, try grounding the deck to the chasis instead of the harness if that helps.

Your friends set up was nice, but not near as loud as i expected it to be... and not very clear either, i'm looking for more of a punch... but he said he was running it underpowered cuz he didn't want to risk blowing anything, IMO i would've spent the money on better 10's or something and pushing them a little more, cuz what's the point of buying expensive stuff if you're not going to use it to potential? nice tho, and big *** amp! it's monstrous.... very strage to still be underpowered....
but nice still! makes me even more anxious to get mine!!

and as for your problem i have seen decks cut out when the speakers are drawing too much power from them it just shuts off... but it's strange that is started doing it all of a sudden when you didn't hook up any extra speakers...the ground would be my best guess...

This thread is very discouraging lol, I hope its nuthing big, or I might just go for that 1 year warranty deal, it seems as if it only cuts out when I pump it loud when the car isnt on. Cause once my friend blasted it to like 40/50 and it was still playing... strange eh?
