Dash lights not working

Ok so the lights which are supposed to light up my spedomiter are not lighting up anymore as well as my tach light.

However the engine light, turning signals, washer lights all work though.

It happened ever since I put in my new deck into the car.

I have checked all of the fuses and they seem to be fine so I am very confused.

Even when I take the deck back out they are still not lighting up anymore.

I would really appreciate any help on the matter. Thanks alot.

Yes it did happen when I hooked up the "diimer" wire onto the deck with the wires on my car.

What do you mean by the dimmer switch though? Is there some sort of relay or switch which has been fried which i need to replace?

Thanks alot

I have already tried doing that and yes the problem does still occur.

It has something to do with the "dimmer" wire which i had to hook up to the deck to dim it when my lights are turned on.

The weird thing is that I am still getting the 12v of power to the "dimmer" wire when my lights are on because i checked it with a volt metre...so i know there is no blown fuse there.

I am so confused

forget the dimmer to the radio.
Did you cut any wires to get the dimmer hooked into the deck? If so, reconnect that wire and just leave it without the dim feature. You probably never dim the lights anyways!

I never had to cut any wires. My wiring harness for the stereo was cut off previously and the deck is all hard wired.

I have tried disconecting the dimmer wires completly and still have the same problem. So it must have blew something

I think im going to try to get a new dimmer switch as someone suggested above who said he had the same problem.

I really hope that will fix it up because its kind of annoying to drive at night without the dash lights
