Compustar says door is open.. but its not...

hey guys,

ok i was just outside today changing out my old ripped up and dirty carpet for a new one. Last night i went ahead and just removed everything untill it got dark... i locked up the car and the alarm was fine... today im install everything onto the car again and when i finish i go to close the doors and turn on the alarm and it says the doors are open... i also have some lights installed on my doors taht turn on when the doors are open... of course the doors are closed and these lights stay on.. so somethings up and it must have been during my carpet job

Does anyone know which wires i should be looking at. Anything right now would really help.

Thanks

Did you turn your dome light to the on position?

This used to defeat my old viper alarm.

Did the system arm, and then the remote beeps a few times to tell you the doors are open? If so, ya I'd say it has something to do with the dome light.

I had a compustar installed on the wife's 2000 Accord. After you close the door, the dome light stays on for a bit and then turns off. If I try to arm the system while the dome light is on, the remote beeps saying the door is open.

when you say that the lights stay on when the doors are closed, then you probably pulled the wire from a door pin ...

well i basically unpluged the door lights from where i had them hooked up and now it says the doors are closed... but whenever i rehook it it says the doors are open... so i must have touched something that has to do with my own wiring... but atleast i got the alarm working ok... plus i also remember touching the dome light a few times so that might perhaps have somethign to do with it but i'll have to check when i find some time...

lets hope its nothing too painful on the brain...
