Can anyone help me with tuning my system?

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone could spare a few mins to help me tune my system.

I have infinity components, an alpine deck, a 4 channel and a monoblock amp with 2 12's. The sound quality isn't the greatest and I am tired of messing around with the settings on my amp and deck. I was wondering if anyone could help me out? I am in scarborough and could pay you for your services

Andrew.

Cant help you that much seeing as I'm not with your system, but Ive got a similar setup. Infinity 4 channel and an Alpine Mono running one 12" sub & kenwood deck. What I did for mine after speaking with friends, researching the internet and whatnot was... Turn the deck up to about 75 - 80% of its max, you never want to do that max as above 75 - 80%, the deck starts to create its own static. (for instance, my deck tops out at 35 so I tuned mine to a max of 30... even then sometimes I hear jarring)

So with your deck at 80%... turn down all the amps. from here, start turning up your 4 channels, I noticed that if you turn the front and rears up to the same amount, your rears will drown out the fronts, so you'll want to be sitting in your car after doing each adjustment, making sure that there are even.

I would start with your fronts, turn them up to a maximum level thats acceptable to you, without any distortion of course. Next start doing the same for the rears, equaling the two sets out (in volume.. not the gain)

Note: I say sit in the car because they may sound good when your not, but keep in mind that when you do sit in it, your legs will be blocking the door speakers and thats where youll noticed your rears out-performing your fronts.

Anyways, once those two sets are at a level that your satisfied with, (without distortion and whatnot) you should now start increasing the gain of your subs... once again, do so to an amount that your satisfied with, without an distortion.

For the entire setup I chose to listen to a more hard bumping song with a lot of bass so I could properly tune the subs, i didnt want to THINK i had everything set and then a hard bumping song would come on and I would hear all sorts of jarring.

Anyways, I hope this helps... it's what I did, and Im quite satisfied.

BTW - I hope you upgraded the 4 channel speakers as well, without doing so... you'll never get the acquired sound your looking for, the subs will always drown them out as the factory speakers simply arent built to handle that kind of power. My factory speakers had a 10 or 15w rms (garbage) after, upgrading I believe my new ones all around have got an 80 (possibly 100w) RMS.
