Calibrating Gauge Needles

Does anyone know what to do if the RPM and Speedo needles are out of whack?

The problem is that the RPM needle shows 3000RPM even though the car is idling while the Speedo shows 60km/h when the car is at a standstill. Once the car is in motion the needles work, but when doing 100km/h the Speedo shows 160.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Take the cluster apart and see if manually pushing them into position does the trick.

The cluster was taken apart in oder to install indiglo gauges. When installing the gauges the needles were taken out while the tach and speedo were at rest, and then put back at the same position. Not sure what can be done to fix the problem.

If they were put back in the rest position, that is werid.

Are you sure you spun the little spindles back to the rest position before you put the needles back on?

Got them almost fixed. They might be off by 100-200 RPM and 5km/h but i will have to confirm that.
Had the engine shut off and then took the needles out and position them back to zero. Started the car back and voila ... all done.

Not sure why the first time I put the needles back in, even though the cluster was not even on the car, the moment I started up the car the needles went up to 3000 RPM and 60km/h respectively.

In any case, problem solved.

i have almost the same problem, my rpm gauge says when running idle 3000 rpm, and when i pull up to 8000 rpm, it still says 3000 rpm, i removed the covers and stuff, took a look at it and his wires and connections, al looks fine to me, i think i just need a new gauge, but don't ask me where to get a new OEM-gauge, allready searched the Inet but didn't find 1 OEM-gauge.
