Amps - Is amp chassis/frame connected to ground?
Hey guys, sorry if this has been answered before. I tried searching but didn't find any similar questions.
Do you know if the metal frame of the amp is connected to the ground?
I mounted my amp onto the rear of my back seats (drilled screws into the seat's metal frame) and the amp powers up without a ground wire connected.
Is this normal? dangerous in any way?
BTW my amp is a Jensen 4 Channel XA4100.
Thanks for the help

Sometimes the ground with go through the chassis if a ground is not properly connected, or not connected at all.
I would reccomend you do a proper ground or move the amp somewhere else, that is unless of course, you like smoke
