Amp mounting advice for '00 Si

Hey everyone, I just pulled my entire system out of my trtunk cuz i needed some space for a big load. I've been kind of ignoring my install for about a year now... its really bad... both my amps are floating on MDF boards and I'd really like to put them somewhere nice. The back of the rear seats is out of the question cuz I made my box for 2 10" MTX's so that it fit perfectly against the rear seats, perfectly between the wheel wells and is exactly as tall as the space to the rear deck and so it takes up as little space as it can right now. My original idea was to mount my two amps on either side of the trunk at the very back of the car on carpeted boards. The only problem is that when I was looking to mount the boards I couldnt find anything to mouunt them soldily to ( I dont weanna drill into my trank floor ). I'm also considering just screwing them into either side of my box.. but I'm concerned about how good/bad that would be for the amps... my subs push 135 dB and theres gotta be some serious vibrations coming off of that box. It's ported, fires back into the trunkand it made of 3/4" MDF. Does anyone have any suggestions.. or maybe have you mounted amps in the trunk of a civic? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ive mouned them on either side of the trunk before.

Had a zapco on the other side too.

Mounting them on the box is fine. They only say that because of how boxes used to be built. They were not made with 3/4" MDF and flexed alot. Todays boxes are alot stiffer and stronger, dont have to worry.

OK. That picture pretty much shows how I originally wanted to do it. Could you tell me how exactly you mounted the amp(fasteners, etc)?

Already did about a year ago, $500

As for the amp board, its just a piece of 1/2" cut to a little bigger size than the amp. If you peel away at the carpet on the sides of the trunk theres a beam that goes behind that panel there with 2 factory screw holes in it, so I just got 2 long bolts and bolted it into the factory beam. Its kin dof tricky because you have to slide your hand in behind and work with your fingers feeling around for the nute etc.

Thanks man. I'll be pulling my trunk apart in about an hour to try and find those holes.

Bringing this thread back from the dead ... I have a 99 Sedan and I wanted to mount my amp somewhere as well. I currently have it mounted to my box, but I am switching over to a single 12 instead of Duals so I need to mount my amp somwhere else other then my box. Loudsubz your pictures don't show anymore, and I was curious to see how you mounted yours. Also what size and length screws or hardware did you use?

I can field that one. I ended up doing exactly what loudsubz said. I was using 3/4" MDF board to mount the amps, then I used 3" bolts, forget what diameter, but small. Having had this in my car for a while now I'll make these suggestions, since I'll be doing some modifications myself when i get some time.

Rubber washers, metal washers, and nuts on either side of the flat beam that you're mounting to. Also, a second nut on the end will prevent them from loosening themselves off.
