97 civic Interior Fan works on setting 3 4 but not 1 2...

The car is a 1997 civic si

So the fan blows fine on settings 3 and 4 but when I switch it over to 1 or 2 it doesnt work at all.

just stopped working the other day, anyone know what it could be?

Blower resister....Not an uncommon issue with older Civics. Look to spend about $30 plus taxes at the dealer.

it the resistors. no guess involved. the blower fan gets power if it's on regardless of speed selected at the switch. the blower itself has one speed only. the switch selects what resistor the current goes through to get to the blower motor. Full high usually goes through a relay instead of a resistor.
