1997 EK Hatch Rear Speaker Install

Hey everyone. I bought some rear speakers for my 97 civic hatch cx base model and when I went to install them I couldn't find any wiring. Does anyone know if the base models had wiring and theyre just hidden somewhere or am I just blind? I know I'm being lazy but If someone knows please let me know to save me some time. Thanks

they should be there...and it's been a while since I did a speaker install but I think the colours are red and brown, and blue and gray...
good luck

Just pulled my entire rear interior. All you need to do is undo 3 screws on the side that holds the U shaped clamps for the rear trunk cover. Next pop the speaker cover off there is a couple metal clips holding it down and you are good to go. 3 screws holding the speaker in and thats it.

My apologies I read too fast and didn't see the wiring question. Yes the wires are there. They are most likely in the wire loom if you cannot see them. You will most likely need to hardwire them in.

Yeah sorry i didnt update, they come in a connector plug, so i just cut off the connector and spliced them into the new speakers.
