05 Si Coupe Amp Wire Routing Help
I've done many searches before posting and tried different ways too but can't find this specific topic. If you have a link to the same thing let me know.
Alright doing another install for a buddy for FREE!
I know I don't post much but I'd appreciate help. Mainly since I bought an accord and gave up the 99 civic I had once.
I've ran power wire into 94 civic Si and 99 Lx 4dr they always had ways to get through the firewall easily and route wire.
Now does anyone here know the best way to get 4 gauge or 1/0 gauge power wire from the front to the back of a 2005 Civic Si 2Dr ?
I don't think I'll have a problem. Its just I haven't even seen the cars engine bay yet.
Any tips or helps would be great!

I might be doing this today or early next week. I took a quick look myself the other day and it doesn't appear to be any easy spot to feed the wire through. Plus I don't want to drill into the firewall.
BTW I would be running 0/1.

thanks man....
what about the paneling in the interior? just pops off?
is it easy to run the wire through the car? any tips on that?
In the other civic I have I had to remove the seat belt bolt at the bottom to get it to go under a spot..............

the only way to get the power cable through is through the firewall. either through an existing hole or you have to drill another one. it maybe easier to drill the hole closer to the steering column. the only problem is you'll have to route more cable since the battery is usually closer to the passenger side.
just a side note, if you're gonna setup a multi-amp system and replace the speaker and speaker cables and add subs, you should route the power cable through one side of the car and route the speaker cables on the other side so you don't get em interference.
the easiest way to route cables is to take out the front and back seats and removed the side trim pieces so you can get to the carpet close to the door. just lift of the carpet a little bit and route the cables where you can get at them. then put back the trim pieces and put the seats back in. it's a lot of work, but everything will look clean and stealth.

or just run it under the door sill covers..
imo, run the power down the passenger side, where the battery is located..
saves the expense of buying another 6 or 10 feet of 4 ga. trying to route it thru the engine compartment
i have run all wires under the sill covers
0 gauge and aux power down passenger side - 4 sets of RCAs, DDC cable and sub controls AS WELL AS 4 pairs of 10 ga. speaker wire down the drivers side...
you will have to cut the little tabs from the bottom side of the covers but it won't do any damage

it's basically just to the right of where the battery would be on an earlier gen civic..
there's a big rubber grommet that the main harness goes thru...that's where you wanna "carefully" take the wire thru
you have to go down on an angle a bit, but just make sure you don't beat the snot out of the main harness

You don't have to take the glove box off to run wire through. All you have to do is pull back the carpet on the floor. The rubber grommet already has wires running through it. Its a really really tight fit. I had a hard time putting 4 gauge wire through there, but I got it through. I used a coat hanger, flatten it out so it was just like a thin metal stick. I taped the coat hanger to the 4 gauge wire, and stuck it in the grommet. After that, I popped the hood and looked for the coat hanger sticking out. Once I found the coat hanger, I held on to it, and pulled. Took me several tries, but it got through. Just make sure you use lots of tape, and put it on tight.
I've never run 0 gauge wire through there, but I'm pretty sure it'll be harder running that through, than the 4 gauge wire.

As an update I finished the install on Saturday. Ya I used the rubber grommet on the lower side on the passenger side.
Drilling holes is a no no. you should see my post about drilling into an evaporator core.

I decided to drill a hole into firewall where the clutch pedal would've went. Thank you Honda for using one frame.
I tried sticking 0/1 in with the main harness, but after 5 minutes I said **** that!

Really? I only know of one set of wires coming through the firewall. I tried going that route, but after few minutes I decided against it. The wiring is too densely packed and there's the odd stray wire I didn't want to break.
anyways drilling was a lot faster.
