Top Heat shield

Well guys I have removed the bottom heat shield a couple of years ago, due to rattling

and now after some years.. the top heat shield is starting to make a rattling sound..

is it safe to remove it?.. or find another way to make it not rattle?
i only ask cause if i remove it i would be allowing the heat to dissipate everywhere.. ex.. shifter, center console etc

what do you guys think??

Thankss
