I have a 1996 civic EX, after you rev it a bit or even when you reach the idle after letting go of the throttle theres some sort of scraping/scratching noise.
Now i tightened everything up and went for a drive and the same sound kept coming, so i popped the hood and revved it a bit and tried to listen to where the sound was coming from and strangely it sounds like its coming from the header area or somewhere around there.
Anyone know anything about this?

Is the bottom of the heat shield on the exhaust manifold rusted away?

That happened on my '94 Civic LX, and when I bent the shield away from the mani, the sound stopped.

Thats the least of my problems now.
My accelerator doesnt work.
The car starts fine, you can even rev it manually but the pedal is slack.
I figure its a belt or cable or something...but does anyone know for sure?
