Post SRI or CAI

I have a 2000 SiR, any thoughts on SRI vs CAI?
I'm not going ebay knockoff, and I'm going brand name, just not sure which to go.

Thanks.

Welcome dude!

The CAI is the way to go if you're not driving through puddles.

Wouldn't the AEM CAI come with a valve to avoid hydrolock though?

unless your gonna drive directly into a huuge puddle and submerge the filter you'll have nothing to worry about. I had an aem v2 intake on my integra and never had problems driving in the rain. However, if your driving year round i would suggest a sri only because snow/salt/sand can restrict air flow if you have a cai since the filter is close to the ground. hope that helps.

a 3" sri w/stack and good filter (aem or k&n) will outperform a cai and increase throttle response. a 3" cai will make more power in the 4-5k range, but the sri/stack/filter set up will make more power acorss the board. especially in vtec

I've found that SRI's make more power (except at 4500rpms where the CAI produces a big hump....which is useless IMO) on just about every setup i've ever done a dyno comparison on.

I'd do what mugen power suggests. He's been with me on a few cars now where we've done dyno comparisons of CAI or whale ***** VS SRI.

On my old Ek I had a $300 AEM CAI and a $50 SRI. The SRI felt much more responsive.

I tuned a h22 that originally had a whale ***** intake, when switching over to a 3" SRI with flowstack and AEM dryflow it picked up 5-7whp and 5-6wtq across the board with the most gains from 5500-6500.

Zeeman what about a K20? There are a bunch of CAI, SRI and modified stock airbox/icebox intakes out for the new Civics.
