paint on the muffler

i have a muffler that was on my car when i got it and i would like to put it back. i plan on taking the existing tip off and weild one that is smaller. now i would like to paint it black but i dont know if i can use regluar paint or should i get some heat enamel paint. i have a half a can of flat black that i was thinking of using but i dont know if itll work.

high heat paint only....you can cook an egg on a hot exhaust tip.

now i didnt use heat paint for my rims will i have problems.

make sure you weld the tip on first before painting u need to have a clean surface to weld to.

Lol Apoc your help us always most useful. Haha. But yeah get some high heat paint, for rims, don't worry they will be fine since they don't get any hotter than cars surface. GL and post some pics when done.

i will as far as my rims i notice they can get quite hot sometimes. hopefully will have my exhaust done by this coming week.

if you ever touch a black car which has been sitting in direct sunlight for good 4-5h i dont think the rims get any hotter than that. where as exhaust gets much hotter.

its hot enough that it burns to touch it but yea not as hot as an exhaust.
