Ok need some help with exhaust PLEASE???

Ok OPP are starting to get to me ALLOT!!!!:shooter:

Need help with getting a new muffler. So the story goes that I got a ticket for "IMPROPER MUFFLER" Last November. I had a knock off Mugen twin loop, about a month after putting it on the packing came out and got loud. So I changed it to a Vibrant "STREETPOWER FLAT BLACK" muffler, which made it allot less noisy, took it too court and got it dismissed part cause I changed it but also the officer was sick and didn't show up. Now about 3 weeks ago I got the same fine again from the same officer? From what I'm told is that any straight through muffler is called a "hollywood Muffler" and not legal! So what I need is a muffler that I can put on that is legal and as quiet as possible but I still want good flow out of it and the other problem is that I need it with 2 1/2" inlet as well?
PLEASE can someone help me PLEASE?????
I also need it ASAP since I have court for it on May 14th and need it fixed by then.
Any help is great!!!!!!

If you still have your stock exhaust, you could throw that back on in time for court. Other than that, you could find documentation that says that black muffler is street legal. Or, just try and avoid that cop in the future.

I agree. If you get documentation, you'll be fine. I got hassled by a cop once and showed him the slip from Apex'i, same with my cousins Camaro, we just got a slip from the mechanic that said they were legal. It's such a BS ticket

cop was just a prick. he must pull over everyone with a cannon style. i just bought this:

thought i'd be ok but apparently i will have to go to court because a cop can still ticket me for having a hollywood muffler for which NO ****ING DEFINITION EXISTS and it's NOT illegal otherwise.

a stock muffler is 'straight through' as well, just so you know, the only muffler that isn't that I know of is the flowmaster.

when i went for an etest w/ my saturn (w/ flowmaster) they couldn't put the sniffer probe into the muffler cuz of the baffling.

Another little thing:

It also directs you to the SEMA web site for some more info on regulations.

I would call or email Vibrant and ask them what the final word on the legality of their Streetpower mufflers.

How are so many of you getting pulled over with loud exhaust when I don't even have a muffler? LOL. Mine just exits after the resonator. And I drive by cops all the time and they do nothing.

I suggest you get a "turbo" style (thats just what they call them) muffler. They are not straight through, they are quieter, but they still flow better than a stock muffler and I'm sure you can get one with a 2.5" inlet.

Good luck.

^^ lol.

I used a polished Magnaflow on my Civic and never got pulled over.. it was a low deep tone.. but when I had the N1 style.. I got 3 tickets for it.

its pretty much where you live...if the cops have nothing to do they will pull you over for anything
