As long as you don't drive like a 16 year old who just got his G2 and watches FnF, you'll be fine.

Just drive normally and don't drive stupid. The cop can give you a ticket for it if he want's as a unnecessary noise ticket, so drive smart.

you just have to be more cautious when you drive... whenever you see a cop car just try to drive at low rpms or put it in neutral...

I had a Greddy exhaust on my last civic and you could here this thing from blocks away. I got two noise voilation tickets ($150), once I was letting it rip and the other all I did was change lanes. Cops didn't do anything but look at the muffler and write a ticket. By the way I'm 36 not 18 so I drive pretty conserative for the most part.

If it's too loud. You might either get exhaust too loud or impoper muffler ticket. I had them before.

so many, well I'm not going to say younger, but 'immature' individuals drive like retards. Life is not a stunt driving course, meaning, Yonge St. DVP, 401, Steeles, whatever, wherever is not your personal playground.

Don't drive like a tool.

Have respect for people around you and they will have respect for you. Drive like a tool, get treated like one, meaning getting pulled over and harassed.

I've never had an issue with cops, ever. Well besides getting kicked out of tim hortons parking lots... but I suppose that is a different topic

EDIT: p.s. enjoy the car

I never had a problem *knocks on wood* for about half a year, was driving with no cat[straight pipe] and a loud muffler. Now have a fart can and still no problems. I guess unless its stupid loud you should be fine. Unless you find a cop that is having a bad day...lol

i got pulled over like 2 days ago, my temp setup is stock 4-2-1 manifold, stock cat 1.75" to axleback to 2.25" to a 3 inch exhaust. cop said it was way too loud and something about it not being stock. he didnt give me a ticket though cause i told him i just got the car and it came like that lol. he was the only cop that ever said anything about it, it mightve been because i was downtown next to some tall buildings, might have made it seem louder than it really was, but whatever. try to keep revs down when you know cops are around or throw it into neutral. i couldnt do that cause he was right behind me at a light, i even shifted really low. but whatever it depends on the officer.

the thing is cops dont really need a reason to pull you over, and if you ask them why they did it they can make up something like they saw you swerving. so if you get pulled over for ANYTHING, and you let your car run when they talk to you they will most likely also slap an inproper muffler ticket.

i had the loudest ****ing thing on my 93 hatch and got 2 noise violation tickets, one of the times i got pulled over for going like 10 over the speed limit and merging with normal traffic, but he double timed it and also gave me a inapropriate muffler ticket on top of that.

so you dont necessarily have todrive smart, though its a good idea, a loud muffler is basically asking for trouble either way you look at it

I got pulled over in my teg once, cop said my muffler was "to loud", but it is very loud. I never got a ticket he just told me to fix it, then gave me a ticket for not using my blinker when i changed lanes lol.

My exhaust will set off car alarms by just idling by. But I've never received a noise ticket cause I don't drive like an idiot. Simple as that.
