I need some opinions!!! ASAP

Ok, so here is the deal.

I have a 00 EK coupe D16y7. I got offered a Skunk2 cat back exhaust system for dirt cheap from a buddy to put on my car off a show car of the same car but SIR version.

Here is the dilemma, I have no clue about Skunk2 cat backs, have never seen one or heard one really. Can anyone enlighten me on them. I was told that the system is UBER loud, but he said that it is from a high compression B16 engine.

I just want to know if i should go through with this system or not. I dont want a really raspy high pitch exhaust that will cause me to get pulled over.

Any feedback for this would be great. All thoughts welcome. thanks in advance.

BTW the expected instal day for this is thurs. morning so please let me know ASAP!

Have you checked youtube? Skunk2 has pretty loud exhausts but have a listen to samples on there and you be the judge.

Yea, i can see, but those are mostly tuned and done up engines, right now im just running intake on my d16y7. Plus, it doesn't record too well, i know since i have recorded my exhaust before and it doesn't do justice...at all.

if you want more power (as it is clear from alot of your posts)...save your money for a B16 swap.

Even the loudest exhaust can stay quiet, as long as you shift at 2500rpm and really, I mean, really cruise around town.

I have done b-pipe only, N1 canister, straight pipe/no resonator and that's my experience thus far - shift early and easy on accelerator paddle.

Exactly.

My 00 SiR exhaust dumps right after the resonator. Sure it's very loud at 8000rpm. But it's also very quiet under 3000.

my 220whp 13:1 2.0l b series engine had no cat no resonator just a 4-1 jdm race header, 2.5 piping and 2 moroso spiral flow cans in series exiting out the passenger side in front of the rear wheel. never got looked at by the cops...nothing like 2200rpm in fifth and short shifting huge!
