Exhaust help please.

Okay for my 1999 honda civic si..
I want to get a nice sounding exhaust thats not so loud that i'll get pulled over.. I want something solid.

I want to keep my cat converter on and would be nice if I could find something rather easy to install.

What are some suggestions..?
Which one of these would be good?

If not..

Just find a catback exhaust system you like and go for it.
Or piece together a custom exhaust. I have a Vibrant stealth muffler on my EG, not to loud and no cops bothering me.

From what I understand a cat-back starts from the cat converter?

Yes that is correct. My brother back in the day bought a muffler Dr eBay and just got that installed without any other exhaust work. Sounded alright for a 60$ muffler. It looked like my vibrant now. 2 1/4" inlet with dual tip outlet. Sounds deeper and not too loud. Just don't get big inlet while your whole piping is small. My buddy did 3" inlet on muffler with 2 1/4" piping without a res it was poping all the time. Sounded really bad lol.

dont get that muffler you linked in your previuos post. the fart can just sounds terrible. the WS2 on the other hand is a little bit pricey but you get what you pay for. sound awesome and you dont see a round can hanging.
i got one of these and i love it. not too loud and still got the deep sound to it. the tips are only 2 1/4" i think...but they arent too big so it doesnt stick out as much.

a dual head exhaust wouldn't look good with the body kit that my honda civic came with..
I might go with the apexi ws 2 if I can find it for around $500 cash

What is your budget? You can get a used SIR exhaust for around $100 or a Magnaflwo or Vibrant for around $500-$600. Both sound very nice and not too loud.

i work at A&A exhaust in the hammer and put on a magna flow single in dual out 2.25" polished stainless muffler and ditched the resonator on my 98 golf 2.0l. sounds sick, deep gurgle at idle and sounds more like a 350z/g35 when its around 2000 + rpm, has no ricey snap crackle and pop either, pure sex IMO and cheaper then the $550 setup your looking at.

magna flow stainless mufflers are life time warranty too. might wanna look into that.

If you want it to be quiet but perform good, It's either the WS2 or R*S*R.
