There is no point in replacing whole exhaust. Nor increasing the piping size. Just buy a muffler, go to exhaust shop and get it installed. Total cost : 250$ give or take.

I'm just curious DTP, how come changing the entire exhaust is pointless? I'm looking to get the Apexi WS2 exhaust sometime in the near future. I'm asking this because I don't know too much about the exhaust component of my car. Also FYI, my car is a 2005 Civic Si Coupe and not and 2006 Civic.

since that site is in the states and you will need to pay for shipping and customs, you'll end up cheaper by buying something from our vendors, so check them out! (just give them a call first, its easier and saves you time).

from the site you posted: exhaust - $600, +shipping (~$100), +customs (~$100). total would be about $800+. Not worth it, imo. Also, what if the part is doa (defective on arrival) or you're missing a part? You'd have to PAY to ship it back and forth, as if you would buy it here, then you'd just go back to the store or shop you bought it from...

I've ordered from CarID before, the shipping is free for only US. It'll cost about $25 for UPS ground shipping. However, tax, duty and brokerage fees are gonna destroy your wallet. I'm sure it works out to be approximately the same if you bought it locally. Also, like everyone has said, buying it locally will allow you to get in contact with them better if you have issues.

DTP said it's pointless to replace the whole exhaust system and increase the pipe diameter because the engine you have will not benefit from doing so. If all you are after is better sound, just replace the muffler or "axle-back" section. If you are after more power, you'll need to do more extensive modifications.

You guys are forgetting stainless steel is more durable

From a power point of view, yes it wont make much of a difference, maybe a little bit and it will sound better

But from a durability point of view, stainless steel is much better than the stock pipe.

Before I decided to put on a new exhaust , i had to go to the shop 3 times because my exhaust kept getting holes. Once i decided to go stainless steel , i have never looked back .
