I bought a Skunk2 intake manifold not too long ago and decided to install it today. I've had a B18B throttle body sitting around and I decided to try installing that too since the diameters match up (~60mm).

I bought both the A/T and M/T TB gaskets because I wasn't sure if it was for an A/T or M/T. Turns out it was for an A/T. The M/T gasket will not match up with the surface of the TB. Neither the bolt holes or the cut-outs for the passages match up.

I mounted the TB with the A/T gasket onto the IM and attached all the lines and hoses. There was one nipple for a vacuum line beside the MAP sensor that needed to be plugged.

Unfortunately, even though everything matched up nicely, the TB would not work with the car. The RPM's begin to surge under 1000 RPM and it sounds like there is a vacuum leak but there wasn't. I looked for one and couldn't find any. So I just put the stock TB back on and it runs perfectly.

I got some info from some guy on another forum that said it will work if you just use the M/T gasket. Guess he was wrong... All other advice I've received said it will work as long as I used the right gasket and attached all the lines...

Is there something I'm missing? Maybe something I'm not doing right?

Anyways... If not, I have a '97 A/T B18B TB with a brand new gasket for sale if anyone wants it?
