I'm a member over at RamForumz for my truck. But recently bought a '98 Civic LX Sedan to play around with and work on, and whip around the city. It's 1.6L, non-vtec, d16y7. This is never going to be a performance vehicle...just for fuel economy.

My stock header was cracked, so I replaced it. Found an aftermarket 4-2-1 header in the junkyard. $20 for the part, $40 for sandblasting, and $15 to paint it myself (flameproof header paint). Not a horrible deal overall, I guess...at least here in Alberta lol.

Put it in last weekend after removing my stock 4-1 header + attached CAT combo. And of course now I'm running with a CEL because there's no CAT. That being said, the stock setup had an upper and a lower O2 sensor. This aftermarket header only has 1 (the upper) O2 sensor bung. There are no bungs any further down on it. Since the rest of the exhaust is 100% stock, there is no test pipe installed with another O2 sensor bung. If there were, I'd just extend my O2 sensor down to that bung, use a spark plug non fouler, and be laughing cause my CEL would go away. Since there's no second bung...I'm a little stuck here. My second O2 sensor is still in the vehicle, just tucked away.

What are your opinions on this? I need this CEL to go away.
